Tennis, injuries and the world cross country champs

Can I imagine away an injury while playing tennis and watching the East Africans dominate the world on the country?

This long Easter weekend has had the effect holidays often have of days losing their definition, routines being forgotten. Today doesn’t feel like a Monday. And yet, it’s time to muse again. It’s like I have to shake my head back into thinking mode.

This sense is compounded by the feeling that many of my stories are currently paused mid-sentence. My injury story, for instance. It may be getting better (I hope). But I can’t be sure.

On Tuesday, 5km into a 7km run, in which that familiar, annoying twinge had been present from the start, I suddenly realised it was gone. Just like that. Nothing. No pain, no twinge, no niggle. I was running pain free. I couldn’t help grinning those last two kilometres. Was this it?
