The sun is out after a wet start to the year, my cough has finally gone, after nearly three weeks, and the Monday Musings is back! After a spluttering start, 2024, it seems, is finally up and running.
I was plagued over Christmas by a persistent chesty cough. It was frustrating because most of the day I felt fine, and I was sleeping well at night, but I knew it wouldn’t be a good idea to go out running. You know the saying: above the neck and it’s OK to run, below the neck - ie anything chesty - then you should rest up. Well, I was resting up, but it wasn’t going away. One day, just before Christmas, I couldn’t take it any longer and I went out. Maybe a run was all it needed, I thought. Just blast this niggling thing away. But that night the cough was worse.
