Dawn run heralds a new dawn
Whisper it, but I've just spent the weekend running around on Dartmoor
I don’t want to get over-excited and get caught out by another false dawn, but I’ve just spent the weekend running around on Dartmoor. And my heel feels only a little bit sore.
Leading up to our latest Way of the Runner retreat with Damian Hall, I wasn’t optimistic. I knew I had to be the one to lead the scheduled Friday evening run, since our main guide, Colin, wouldn’t be joining us until Saturday. And I knew it was likely - judging by recent experience - that after an hour of running up and down great hulking hills, my heel would be throbbing.
I snuck in a quick Feldenkrais session before the run, and after the run the heel didn’t feel too bad. That was positive. But, as you know, I’ve had a few moments of false hope during recent months, and so I was fully expecting the jabbing pain to return at any moment.
