Well, I’ve been in Ireland a week already and while the time has flown, it also feels like years ago that we set off from our cosy corner of Devon. The first day running out of Dublin I had the company of local Bray runner Neil, who guided me serenely all the way to Sugar Loaf Mountain, past picturesque bays and swimming spots - including one where we stopped for a dip. (The run also included a frantic hour when I realised I’d lost my phone, but by some miracle we found it. The relief was immense. I couldn’t see how I could go on without my phone, and I was pulling my hair out at my own stupidity.)
